Must Know for android phone users

DISCLAIMER: This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or mobile thieves. Please do not try any of following methods if you are not familiar with mobilephones. We'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

This code can be used to get some interesting information about your phone and battery. It shows following 4 menus on screen:
Phone information
Battery information
Battery history
Usage statistics

This code can be used for a factory data reset. It'll remove following things:
Google account settings stored in your phone
System and application data and settings
Downloaded applications

It'll NOT remove:
Current system software and bundled applications
SD card files e.g. photos, music files, etc.

PS: Once you give this code, you get a prompt screen asking you to click on "Reset phone" button. So you get a chance to cancel your operation.

Think before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall the phone firmware.

PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.

This code is used to get information about phone camera. It shows following 4 menus:
Update camera firmware in image (Don't try this option)
Update camera firmware in SD card
Get camera firmware version
Get firmware update count

WARNING: Never use the first option otherwise your phone camera will stop working and you'll need to take your phone to service center to reinstall camera firmware.

This one is my favorite one. This code can be used to change the "End Call / Power" button action in your phone. Be default, if you long press the button, it shows a screen asking you to select any option from Silent mode, Airplane mode and Power off.

You can change this action using this code. You can enable direct power off on this button so you don't need to waste your time in selecting the option.

This code opens a File copy screen where you can backup your media files e.g. Images, Sound, Video and Voice memo.

This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.

WLAN, GPS and Bluetooth Test Codes:

*#*#232339#*#* OR *#*#526#*#* OR *#*#528#*#* - WLAN test (Use "Menu" button to start various tests)

*#*#232338#*#* - Shows WiFi MAC address

*#*#1472365#*#* - GPS test

*#*#1575#*#* - Another GPS test

*#*#232331#*#* - Bluetooth test

*#*#232337#*# - Shows Bluetooth device address

This code can be used to launch GTalk Service Monitor.

Codes to get Firmware version information:

*#*#4986*2650468#*#* - PDA, Phone, H/W, RFCallDate

*#*#1234#*#* - PDA and Phone

*#*#1111#*#* - FTA SW Version

*#*#2222#*#* - FTA HW Version

*#*#44336#*#* - PDA, Phone, CSC, Build Time, Changelist number

Codes to launch various Factory Tests:

*#*#0283#*#* - Packet Loopback

*#*#0*#*#* - LCD test

*#*#0673#*#* OR *#*#0289#*#* - Melody test

*#*#0842#*#* - Device test (Vibration test and BackLight test)

*#*#2663#*#* - Touch screen version

*#*#2664#*#* - Touch screen test

*#*#0588#*#* - Proximity sensor test

*#*#3264#*#* - RAM version

NOTE: All above codes have been checked on Google Android phone Samsung Galaxy I7500 only but they should also work in other Google Android phones.

Inside HAMSA

Hi all, I have been intermitently available on the blog , Each time i write after a gap i come up with the same shlogan "I am back" .This time perhaps to make a slight change ,i would say "being back on board".I hope my gusto of writting on web will be long . However, leaving all apart , i have been quite busy from past few months , hoping to make life more constructive , developing a lot of cool applications .But , have failed miserably . Doomed.Well, after this doomsmonths i finally come up with something really cool , in the begining to only "say" ,after a while "completely justified ".I am working on ELECTRONICS ,do you believe it ? Not in a million years. Used to laugh at a some of my peers at Engineering school ,expecially at those who had no roots in computers. Now , We are all sailing in the same boat. In fact , i am leading all such friends. As far as the industry norms are concerned , i am in a wonderful place , doing awesome things.Though , i do not reject it completely ,yet am not able to take it for granted . In the coming days i'll be doing a lot of Electronic stuff with great passion( inherent in me ;) ). Oh , one more thing that needs to be exclusively bragged is "I am THE YOUNGEST in my team(HAMSA)".Lot of things to learn folks. Getting ready with all the gear from 3 days ,ready to pounce on my favourite part " CODE WRITTING " at any moment . See you all till i get back to again brag,I have done this all myself :).

VirtualKeyBoard in a good shape

hi guys.. The VirtualKeyBoard on which i am draining my energies from quite sometime has now come into a proper shape .Right now i am a proud developer who can say "In a next versions of the freoffice you would be using my virtual KeyBoard and the best part is it can dynamically build keyboard for any ,..just aneey language ".It has some default languages which directly come with the keyboard and these can not be removed from the language basket ,where as the rest of the languages can be downloaded, added and respective keyboards can be built to the languages basket in ONE CLICK .Removing the unused languages from the languages basket is also very simple. In a single statement i can conclude that your documents on FreOffice would now onwards contain more than just ENGLISH .You would not only love the functionality of it but also the effects it produces makes you very delighted .I would come with a lot of screenshots and maybe video also of the VirtualKeyBoard tomorrow .Till then keep waiting :)

hi all I am BACK

Today after a long time i have found some time ,no have forcefully allocated some time for blogging .I am in a great enthusiasm to speak a lot of things ,most of them geeky :)and rest are hmm,...

I am in NOKIA R&D(Bangalore) from june 16th,and have been working seriously on FreOffice's advanced presentations using the accelerometer which is present on the N900 .Life was little tough in the beginning of the project ,dint exactly know where to start and how to plan the project .After some ground work, I got to know that i had to learn DBus for this project.Learnt it in a few days and started with the implementation part. Now,after finishing the project i feel very happy to look back at the functionality developed by me .Its really cool and changing slides during the presentation has become really nice and convenient for the presenter.Just the tilt of the N900 moves the slides. To make it more user friendly ,i have given the response in terms of the vibration to indicate the slide movement.Later i was asked to implement the scrolling of the pages using the accelerator. This time i was well equipped with the previous experience so did it much faster and obviously better. Now,scrolling the pages on the FreOffice is a beauty ,you dont need to touch the screen ,Guys!! just bending makes it work.Amazing rite??I was very happy for the same when my product owner complemented that "reading has become fun with this functionality :)".

have a look at some of the screenshots from my N900

the button accelerator scrolling symbolized by 'a' on the right bottom corner is the icon for enabling/disabling the accelerator based scrolling. All the documents which can be opened on the FreOffice can be scrolled .Presently its in OFF state.

After clicking 'a'

This functionality can be used in both fullscreen and normal mode ,but this video is taken only in the fullscreen mode
